Open Notebook offers writing fellowship for early-career science writers.

The Open Notebook is seeking applicants for fellowships that give early-career science writers the opportunity to write five articles over a four-month period on the craft of science writing.

The fellows “will produce a total of five articles for publication at The Open Notebook—a mix of ‘story behind the story’ interviews, reported features, and other resources, with the guidance of a mentor who will help shape story ideas, provide reporting and writing guidance as needed, and edit final copy,” writes Siri Carpenter, The Open Notebook’s co-founder and editor-in-chief.

If you’re interested, get moving. The next fellowship begins Nov. 15th.

Editor, Health-Care Website Relaunch

One of New York’s most prestigious medical centers is reimagining its online content strategy and creating a patient-first, service-oriented destination. While other hospitals are still using content that’s stale, overly clinical, and often kind of scary, this medical center is determined to create content that patients and their loved ones find approachable, informative, and useful. But they can’t accomplish that without a great Editor. To be the right fit for this gig, you’ll need experience editing and proofreading at a digital media property, an agency, or anywhere else where the copy comes fast and the deadlines are aggressive. You’ll also need a strong health and medical background, and the ability to translate clinical doctor-speak into patient-friendly copy.
