Jennifer Carlino is Assistant Dean of the School of Journalism. She has been with the School of Journalism since its inception in 2006. Before the J-School, she worked at Stony Brook University in the Residence Halls as Quad Operations Service Manager.

Phil Altiere

Technology Manager
Phil Altiere is the Technology Manager at the School of Journalism at Stony Brook University. He graduated NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in Film and TV. Phil designed and built the School’s HD Broadcast Studio, and maintains and oversees newsroom for students as well as the camera and equipment for student use.

Staff Assistant
Erika Karp is a staff assistant for the School of Journalism, Center for News Literacy and Marie Colvin Center for International Reporting. She is responsible for managing the centers’ grants, planning events and coordinating the School of Journalism’s recruitment endeavors.

Michael Spikes

Director of the Digital Resource Center for the Center for News Literacy
He began his work with News Literacy in 2010 as a participant in the Center’s Summer Institute For Teachers at Stony Brook University. He joined the staff of the Center for News Literacy in 2012 to play a key role in the development of its new Digital Resource Center.

Paul Christensen is the Technical Support Assistant for the School of Journalism. He is responsible for maintaining, upgrading and trouble shooting all of the hardware and software operations in the school’s technologically sophisticated newsroom.
