An innovative new course that will send SB journalism students around the nation and the world was approved by the University’s Arts and Sciences Curriculum Committee. Students will be assigned as part of a team to travel to the location of a news event and use only mobile technology to transmit stories and video from the field. Locations may range from New Orleans to one of the upcoming national political conventions and will include overseas destinations, as well. Student work will be published via a special Web site. The course will be offered during summer and winter sessions. “Journalism Without Walls” is one of 12 new journalism courses recently approved by the curriculum committee.
