Faculty members win second award for Science on Tap

Stony Brook School of Journalism faculty members Rick Ricioppo, Valeri Lantz-Gefroh and Steven Reiner, along with their crew, won an Award of Excellence in Educational or Instructional Video for their work on Science on Tap from the Broadcast Education Association’s (BEA) Festival of Media Arts

This is the second win for Science on Tap, which also won a Fall 2012 Gold Aurora Award for Science Instruction.

The BEA Festival of Media Arts is an international competition of faculty and student work.

Winners are recognized for their work at the BEA’s annual convention in Las Vegas.

“I think it’s great that the word is getting out about Science on Tap and more people are seeing it,” said Reiner about the win. “It’s being recognized for the original way in which it presents science to the general public.”

Episode 3 of Science on Tap, “Savory Science: food, flavor and feelings” with Alfredo Fontanini, can be seen below.
