School of Journalism Director of Broadcast and Digital Journalism Steven Reiner appeared on the MSNBC program “All In with Chris Hayes” on Nov 8, 2013.

School of Journalism Director of Broadcast and Digital Journalism Steven Reiner appeared twice on the MSNBC program “All In with Chris Hayes” to discuss the controversy surrounding a factually inaccurate report on CBS’ “60 Minutes” about the 2012 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

Reiner was a producer at “60 Minutes”  for 12 years before joining the School of Journalism faculty and, as a panelist on “All In,” provided insight and opinion regarding what reporting errors the program may have made.

“This is ultimately a failure of good journalism,” Reiner said during his second appearance. “It’s an abrogation of the verification processed. It was not followed.”
