Newsday has launched a major multimedia project to honor the memory of nearly 500 Long Islanders lost at the World Trade Center a decade ago. The project titled 9/11 A Decade Later: Long Island Remembers consists of print and online articles, along with photographs and video of the stories surrounding the victims, their families and their friends. Stony Brook journalism students are helping to create some of the 500 videos that Newsday will post on its website in honor of the 9/11 families.
Under the direction of associate dean Marcy McGinnis and professor Rick Ricioppo, journalism students conduct, shoot and edit the stories that will become part of the permanent record for Long Island to remember those who died and those who keep their memories alive. For more on the project click:
