As the bulk of her college graduating class moved on to graduate schools or jobs somewhere in U.S., Ilana Ozernoy decided to go in a completely different direction. A direction that led her all the way to the Afghan outback.
Ozernoy, a new Assistant Professor in the School of Journalism, spoke about this experience and her decade as a war correspondent at the My Life As event in the SAC auditorium on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012.
Ozernoy said, “I’m really grateful that I had the opportunity to share my story. My story is unique to me. But I hope there are things embedded in my story that students will learn from or borrow from or will simply just think about.”
