This six-week course, taught by professor Jon Friedman, focuses on coverage of popular culture, including music, movies, TV, theater and fashion. Its purpose is to help students produce quality features and reviews. Students visit city newsrooms and interact with accomplished guests. It meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at Stony Brook’s Manhattan campus and runs from May 31 to July 9. The course is small, fun and demanding. In addition, JRN 335 satisfies the experiential requirements of both the School of Journalism and Stony Brook Curriculum. For information, contact Friedman at jonathan.p.friedman@stonybrook.edu, call him at 917-628-4942 or visit his office at N-4014 Melville Library on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 11:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.
