JRN 335 – Reporting in NYC: Arts, Entertainment & Culture, Summer 2017

In this course, students gain a greater understanding of and appreciation for reporting on subjects ranging from television, movies and theater as well as music, fashion and books in New York City. 
In a fast-paced summer semester, you will learn about becoming a more skillful, sophisticated and discerning beat reporter and critic. You’ll gain insights about the craft from the professor and from professionals and guest speakers. In past semesters, we have visited media organizations such as CBS News and the New York Times as well as magazines such as Glamour, Cosmopolitan, New York and Esquire.

  • The course runs from Tuesday, May 30, to Thursday, July 6
  • Classes will be held from Tuesdays through Fridays from 1:30 to 4:55pm
  • Classes will meet at a location to be announced.

Pre-requisites: JRN 205 and 215 or instructor’s permission.
