TC McCarthy is an Emmy-nominated and award-winning multimedia journalist from New York who specializes in video, photography and web design.
A graduate of Stony Brook University, McCarthy worked as an interactive producer for News12 Networks and then a community journalist and social media coordinator at Newsday Media Group before becoming the web developer at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in Manhattan.
He is constantly looking to be a part of the ‘cutting edge’ of journalism. For Newsday he was on the development team for a responsive, touch-oriented, interactive video project which was nominated for an Emmy in 2013. He also worked on the publication’s Long Island schools data site and the annual voter guide it compiles for every election that impacts Long Islanders.
At CUNY, McCarthy developed a load-balanced web environment which persistently hosts 800+ websites in a WordPress multisite environment. He also regularly works to teach students various program languages and develope data visualization projects.
