A Sample Course Sequence for Majors

In Fall 2013, the School of Journalism introduced a revised curriculum for majors and minors. It applies to students who HAVE NOT TAKEN JRN 110. The details are in the sample below.

Students who HAVE TAKEN JRN 110 are not affected. Your program will unfold as usual. For details of that sequence, click here.

NOTE: This sample includes D.E.C courses. Starting in Fall 2014, incoming freshmen are governed by a new GenEd system known as SBC, for Stony Brook Curriculum. A sample reflecting the SBC requirements will be posted in the near future.

The SBC requirements will go into effect for transfer students who start at Stony Brook in Fall 2015.

As always, it is important that you meet with a journalism adviser. Call the journalism office at 632-7403 to schedule an appointment.
