The School of Journalism, in cooperation with Stony Brook’s Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science, offers innovative courses for current and future scientists and health professionals who want to communicate more effectively about their work with the public, public officials, the media, potential funders and employers, as well as colleagues in other disciplines. These courses are intended primarily for graduate students, post-docs and professionals in the sciences and health professions.
Non-matriculated students can take these courses through the School of Professional Development.
The Communicating Science courses can be taken separately or as part of the new, 18-credit Advanced Graduate Certificate in Health Communications being offered jointly by the Graduate Program in Public Health and the School of Journalism.
