First Professional Friday Trip of the Fall Semester

On the first Professional Friday trip of the fall semester, students visited the Associated Press and Bloomberg TV in New York City, took place on Sept. 20, 2013. Professors Dean Miller and Jonathan Sanders led the enthusiastic and ambitious group of 14 students, who were all assigned with specific tasks to document their experience.

MacArthur Foundation Awards $285,000 to Stony Brook University

Stony Brook University School of Journalism today announced that the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation has awarded a $285,000 grant to the Center for News Literacy to fund the creation and delivery of digital materials demanded by the rapid spread of News Literacy courses.
