Fourth Annual ‘Taste of the Three Villages’ to Benefit Recipient of Lee Lutz Memorial Scholarship

The Holiday Inn Express in Stony Brook will host a tasting featuring the culinary stylings of dozens of restaurants and markets in the Three Village and surrounding area at 5:30 p.m. on September 23, 2013. The event, a Taste of the Three Villages, benefits the Stony Brook University School of Journalism, specifically a scholarship established in memory of Lee Lutz, late editor of the Three Village Times Beacon.

The reviews are in and the 18 specially selected high school journalists who made up the 2010 Greene Team were all on the same page: Awesome! Excellent! Fabulous! Loved It! The second annual summer boot camp was created in honor of the late Bob Greene, legendary Newsday investigative reporter and former professor at Stony Brook University’s School of Journalism.

One of the most technologically advanced newsrooms in the country was officially opened today when Stony Brook University’s School of Journalism unveiled its “Newsroom of the Future.” More than 100 people–Stony Brook officials, including President Shirley Strum Kenny; government officials; members of media—attended the opening of the $1.3 million facility.
